MER Therapy

Myofascial Energetic Release (MER) is a method of gradual, deep relaxation of the fascia throughout the body using fingers, hands, elbows, and knees, combining elements of massage and stretching with deep breathing and mindful body awareness. I was taught this technique by Satyarthi Deva.

I perform MER on a massage table, and sessions last between approximately 50 to 120 minutes. During the session, I work on a selected part of the body, relaxing it and releasing tensions and trauma stored in the tissues, as well as alleviating pain. This leads not only to changes in certain behavioral patterns in the body, such as the way you move and feel yourself, but also to an increased sense of self-worth and safety. Fascia release techniques allow access to emotions held in the body and their release.

Under stressful or traumatic events, the fascia can tighten, which causes the natural flow of energy in specific areas of the body to be blocked, as well as muscle contraction related to the natural threat response — readiness to flee, fight, or freeze. Prolonged myofascial contraction can lead to chronic pain.

Therefore, before the session, I always conduct a short conversation to learn about your current state and what your body is carrying. Then I perform bodyreading to determine the areas for work. Releasing tension from muscles and fascia leads to a deep state of relaxation, so I often allow time during the session for you to observe sensations in your body. After the session, I encourage drinking water, as toxins released during the work can be more easily eliminated from the body this way.

During the session, the body may release stuck emotions through spontaneous movement, crying, laughter, or coughing. My work supports this process of releasing yourself and your body, often years after traumatic experiences. It is a deep, therapeutic approach that touches many areas, including mental ones, and offers the possibility to restore the body’s natural vitality and freedom.

Sessions usually last one hour. Work with children typically takes a maximum of one hour.
It is possible to schedule longer sessions of 1.5 or 2 hours. During these sessions, I combine various techniques depending on what is needed at the moment.
